This is 25 million meticais (US$391,583) more than the 44.7 million allocated in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The figures are contained in the Balance of the Economic and Social Plan and State Budget for 2023, made available a few days ago by the Ministry of Economy and Finance.<\/p>\n<p>The transfer is conditioned by Law No. 29\/2022 of December 30, which approved the State Budget for the year 2023. The device defines, in its sixth article, the percentage of 2.75% of the tax on oil production and mineral exploitation for development programs in communities in the areas where the respective enterprises are located, in accordance with article 20 of Law no. 20\/2014, Mining Law and article 48 of Law no. 21\/2014, Law de Petro\u0301leos, both dated August 18th.<\/p>\n<p>In this context, last year, 77.1 million meticais were transferred to the beneficiary communities, 100% of the programmed execution.<\/p>\n<p>Of beneficiary communities, the highlight goes to those in Tete province, to which the government channelled 23.8 million meticais, of which 15.3 million meticais went to Benga, in Moatize, and 2.8 million meticais to Kachembe in the district of Marara.<\/p>\n<p>In Tete, revenues result from the exploitation of mineral coal.<\/p>\n<p>Another highlight goes to communities in Cabo Delgado province, where the executive channelled 23.6 million meticais, 22.6 million meticais of that to the communities of Namanhumbir, Montepuez district.<\/p>\n<p>In Cabo Delgado, revenues result from the extraction of ruby, graphite and vanadium.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the government transferred 13.3 million Meticais to the province of Inhambane, of which six million meticais to Maimelane, in Inhassoro, and seven million meticais to Pande, in the district of Govuro.<\/p>\n<p>The Inhambane revenues result from the exploitation of natural gas.<\/p>\n<p>The provinces of Nampula, Zambe\u0301zia and Manica received the least resources in 2023, with the amounts reaching 8.2 million, 6.2 million and 1.3 million meticais, respectively.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/mozambique\">Mozambique<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Evaristo Chilingue Africa-Press &#8211; Mozambique.
