Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>A total of 74,952 people crossed Maputo province\u2019s borders from the start of \u201cOperation Easter\u201d on March 18 until Thursday.<\/p>\n

The spokesman for the operation, Juca Bata, was quoted by \u201cNotA\u0303\u00adcias\u201d as saying that 48 miners were flown from South Africa to Chongoene Airport in Gaza.<\/p>\n

Juca Bata also said that the peak season was from the 25th to the 28th of this month, when an average of 3,000 travelers passed through the Ressano Garcia station alone.<\/p>\n

The migration authorities expect 225,000 fewer travelers, including 8,000 miners, to cross the country\u2019s land borders over the Easter period, according to the newspaper.<\/p>\n

\u201cOperation Easter\u201d ends on April 5, with peak departures expected between March 31 and the 3rd of next month.<\/p>\n
