Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The Embassy of the Netherlands and a consortium led by TecnoServe, a non-governmental organization operating in the country through the \u201cManguana\u201d program, will provide over 30 million euros in the next four years to improve food systems and nutritional security in the \u201cBeira Corridor.\u201d<\/p>\n

The fact was confirmed by the program director, Barbora de Oliveira, who emphasized that the project, implemented in partnership with Resilience, the Zambeze Valley Development Agency (ADVZ), and the Manica Economic Development Agency (ADEM), aims to benefit over 227,000 individuals residing in the Beira Corridor.<\/p>\n

In addition to the 227,000 individuals who will have more diversified and suitable diets, the \u201cManguana\u201d program will also help 45,000 small farmers in the region increase their incomes and progress toward stable earnings.<\/p>\n

Within the scope of this project, it is also foreseen that over 15,000 women from small farmer families will progressively improve their capacity to act by being empowered to make economic choices.<\/p>\n

De Oliveira, who also serves as the national director of TechnoServe in Mozambique, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating her gratitude for once again having the support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the consortium partners.<\/p>\n
