Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>This Wednesday, at 5:30 PM, at the Guimara\u0303es Rosa Institute in the City of Maputo, the Kulungwana \u2013 Association for Cultural Development will host a free lecture for artists, producers, managers, and individuals interested in how to develop and manage cultural projects.<\/p>\n

Titled \u201cProject Management in Culture \u2013 the Importance of Financial Management in Cultural Projects,\u201d the event will feature pedagogue, creative entrepreneur, and project manager, Ma\u0301rcia Cardim. With over 20 years of experience, having completed 200 cultural projects and provided three thousand hours of training for artists and professionals in the Creative Economy in Salvador \u2013 Bahia, Brazil \u2013 Ma\u0301rcia Cardim will share her experience from her Academic Residency at the Kulungwana Association.<\/p>\n

She is a creative entrepreneur and specialist in cultural projects that secure sponsorships and financial support through Funding Laws, Public and Private Calls, both nationally and internationally.<\/p>\n

With free admission, subject to venue capacity, and certificates provided to attendees, Ma\u0301rcia Cardim assures that the lecture will be a very rewarding experience: \u201cSharing the experience of my Multidisciplinary and Professional Master\u2019s Residency in Development and Social Management (UFBA) with the Kulungwana team exceeded all expectations. I arrived in Maputo with the desire to conduct academic research and was welcomed by people who truly believe that culture transforms lives.<\/p>\n

And being able to collaborate with artists and producers in Maputo, to better understand the importance of financial management and accountability in cultural projects, will be a joy.\u201d She further adds: \u201cDuring my residency, I learned about the dynamics of financial support, how resources are managed, and interviewed each sector of Kulungwana. I realize how it is possible and beneficial for us to broaden our perspectives on different ways to manage cultural projects.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kulungwana advocates for the realization of a social and artistic residency. According to the association\u2019s director, providing a practical space for the exchange of experiences, where it was possible to articulate different knowledge in an immersive experience, ultimately confronted Kulungwana\u2019s own experience. She adds: \u201cWe saw how important it was to conduct a critical and better-qualified analysis to obtain financial investment, and how necessary it is for us to demonstrate how our projects contribute to social outcomes.<\/p>\n

Transforming lives, whether through the artistic\/humanistic aspect or through the generation of employment and income that entrepreneurship entails, has never been more necessary.\u201d<\/p>\n

During the two-hour lecture, the main challenges that cultural professionals face in developing, managing, and reporting on cultural projects will be presented. Additionally, emphasis will be placed on the desired competencies for those involved in financial management, and finally, a step-by-step guide on integrated management will be provided: from project conception to sponsor retention.<\/p>\n
