Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The state-owned enterprise Electricidade de Moc\u0327ambique (EDM) launched on the 16th in Maputo, a new digital portal aimed at ensuring the promotion of integrity, transparency, equality, competitiveness, and expediency in the service procurement process across the entire value chain.<\/p>\n

According to the Chairman of the EDM Board of Directors, Marcelino Gildo, the supplier portal aligns with the ongoing procurement reforms within the company since 2017, based on the upgrading of processes and Information and Communication Technology systems.<\/p>\n

The emergence of the portal is due to the increasing demands and pressures in terms of time, costs, and prices in the company\u2019s administrative processes.<\/p>\n

Marcelino Gildo also revealed that the EDM supplier portal project received complementary support from Sweden and Norway.<\/p>\n

Among the benefits of the new portal are the security of more dynamic and flexible operational flows, allowing EDM employees to focus on value-added tasks, such as decision-making, supplier analysis, negotiations, and others.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs we had the opportunity to see in the presentation of the platform\u2019s functionalities and the tests conducted, we are facing a supplier management portal that will generate significant savings by enabling real-time procurement control, as well as improving performance in our relationship with suppliers,\u201d said Gildo.<\/p>\n

With the portal\u2019s launch, EDM expects to reduce the procurement process completion time, eliminating repetitive tasks, manual errors, and increasing reliability in the company\u2019s procurement process.<\/p>\n

It will also enable greater expediency in accessing information from any part of the organization, thanks to the digital traceability configured to ensure communication between systems.<\/p>\n

The portal will also ensure supplier audits, identifying problems and potential solutions that can anticipate trends in EDM\u2019s financing stock of goods and services.<\/p>\n

Gildo took the opportunity to appeal to EDM suppliers and service providers, estimated at around 4,000, to register on the new portal.<\/p>\n
