Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The Mozambican writer and 2021 Camo\u0303es Literature Prize laureate, Paulina Chiziane, has been in Luanda, the Angolan capital, since Thursday night to enliven a literary project in the city of Luena (Moxico), which includes, among other activities, a debate on \u201cFemale Emancipation Based on African Culture and History\u201d and the presentation of the anthology \u201cThe Bantu in Mafrano\u2019s Vision,\u201d by the writer and ethnologist Mauri\u0301cio Francisco Caetano.<\/p>\n

The Mozambican writer will be in the province of Moxico from April 21st to 26th, at the initiative of Livraria Muyombo and the Letras e Leituras Project, fulfilling an extensive program that began on the day of her arrival with her participation in the fourth edition of the \u201cLiterary Cafe\u0301\u201d Project, alongside King Mwatchissengue, and later attending the Luena Major Seminar, where she will speak on \u201cBantu Ancestry in Mafrano\u2019s Vision.\u201d<\/p>\n

In 2003, the Mozambican writer won the Jose\u0301 Craveirinha Literature Prize with the novel \u201cNiketche,\u201d and in 2021, she became the first woman to be honored with the Camo\u0303es Prize, the most prestigious distinction awarded to Portuguese-language writers.<\/p>\n

In Luena, there is great anticipation about what Paulina Chiziane will say, both regarding female emancipation and regarding the posthumous work \u201cThe Bantu in Mafrano\u2019s Vision,\u201d which constitutes a direct collection of habits, legends, customs, and cultural practices from various regions of Angola, from the late 1940s, when the value of this culture was underestimated by colonization.<\/p>\n

The Mozambican writer was very recently in Luanda as a guest at the \u201cThird Meeting of Young Researchers of the CPLP,\u201d held between March 27th and 28th. It is also worth noting that in December 2023, Paulina Chiziane was also in the city of Lubango to present this work of Mafrano at the Catholic Mission of Hui\u0301la, alongside Dom Zacarias Kamuenho, Archbishop Emeritus of Lubango and 2001 Sakharov Prize laureate.<\/p>\n
