Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>About five hundred illegal immigrants have been repatriated to their countries of origin from January to this point in the year, in various border districts of Tete province.<\/p>\n

They are mostly citizens of Ethiopian, Bangladeshi, Congolese, Somali, as well as Zambian, Zimbabwean, and Malawian nationalities, who enter the country with the intention of reaching the Republic of South Africa.<\/p>\n

Compared to the same period last year, immigration authorities in Tete province describe the phenomenon as concerning, given the number recorded in less than five months.<\/p>\n

The spokesperson for the Provincial Migration Directorate of Tete stated that the districts of Ango\u0301nia, Macanga, Tsangano, Moatize, Changara, and the provincial capital city all show high levels of this type of crime.<\/p>\n

Ne\u0301rcia Wamusse urges the population of Tete province to report any suspicious movements of individuals to the migration authorities in this region of the country.<\/p>\n
