I think from now on they will be fully implemented,\u201d said the president of FAMOD.<\/p>\n<p>The existence of this law provides an opportunity to ensure reflection and revitalization of efforts to reduce inequalities and violations of the human rights of persons with disabilities.<\/p>\n<p>Pondja emphasized that the initial draft of the law was not aligned with the principles of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and human rights.<\/p>\n<p>FAMOD states that despite the gains, the law still has many gaps, as it does not clearly define the entity responsible for implementation to enforce the rights of persons with disabilities.<\/p>\n<p>Another gap pointed out by FAMOD concerns the quota for the employability of persons with disabilities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNot least, this is the first legal instrument approved by the Assembly of the Republic that definitively abandons the terminology \u2018person with disabilities\u2019 and adopts the terminology \u2018Person with Disability,\u2019 which for us is a major milestone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It should be noted that the joint reflection meeting on the law, taking place today in Maputo, brings together members, partners, representatives of the Ministry of Gender, Child, and Social Action, among other guests.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/mozambique\">Mozambique<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Mozambique.
