Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The electoral registration ends today in the context of the elections scheduled for October 9th, a process that lasted 45 days with a goal to register 7,773,696 potential citizens. Of this universe, 7,494,011 are new registrations within the national territory and 279,685 abroad.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the press a few days ago, the spokesperson for the National Electoral Commission (CNE), Paulo Cuinica, assured that the registration of potential voters was proceeding at a satisfactory pace, with more than six million citizens registered as of April 22nd.<\/p>\n

In addition to this number, there are the 8,723,805 registered in the context of the sixth local elections held last year. For the census, 9,165 posts were set up, distributed across 8,774 for the national territory and 391 for abroad. A total of 6,330 brigades were also created \u2013 6,033 national and 297 abroad \u2013 to cover certain areas, reducing the distance between residence and registration post.<\/p>\n
