Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The launch ceremony of a project to replace the industrial network destroyed by terrorism in Cabo Delgado took place this Friday (17-05) in the city of Pemba, Zumbo FM reports.<\/p>\n

Governor of Cabo Delgado Valige Tauabo said that the project to replace the industrial network was one of the ways found to overcome the damage caused by the terrorism that has plagued the province.<\/p>\n

\u201cCabo Delgado, due to the circumstances it is going through, because these circumstances call for development, the only way to overcome the phenomenon that is plaguing us is to develop a multidisciplinary approach in response and integrate all the living forces of our community and all the members of this great family called Cabo Delgado, in a process of reconstruction that involves everyone,\u201d Governor Tauabo explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cDespite the present challenges, our economy is gradually being reborn, and projections indicate a growth in domestic product of 13% this year in an economy of more than 100 billion meticais excepting the mining sector, according to statistics combined within the framework of the last coordination forum.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Provincial Director of Industry and Commerce, Nocif Magaia, said that the main objective of the project was to restore the industrial network destroyed by terrorism in the Districts of Moci\u0301mboa da Praia, Palma, Nangade, Muidumbe, Macomia and Quissanga.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis ceremony is the culmination of a long process initiated through the private sector launch program financed by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, in which the government of the Province of Cabo Delgado invested more than 30 million meticais into the Rural Economy,\u201d Magaia said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd it is also integrated into the initiatives for the development of an industrialization project structured around the industrial parks of Cabo Delgado and the Subpaks, and based on this division, we are also developing an adjusted project called Cabo Delgado Parks, which aims to promote industrialization as a factor in promoting stability, peace and local development.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis project was supported by UNDP, and has interventions in the districts of Mocimboa da Praia, Palma, Nangade, Muidumbe, Macomia and Quissanga. It aims to restore industries that were destroyed, which includes equipment, facilities, training, but also institutional training for our district and provincial sectors,\u201d Magaia concluded.<\/p>\n

Representing the President of the Business Council of the Province of Cabo Delgado, Mahamudo Irache, Abdul Latifo praised the government\u2019s initiative in finding solutions to restore the industrial network in the province.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe business council of the province of Cabo Delgado expresses its satisfaction with the government\u2019s readiness in searching for business solutions in Cabo Delgado. This is for the love of our population and the love of its businesspeople, and therefore for the recovery of our social fabric and business,\u201d Latifo said.<\/p>\n

Sarafe Morais Saide, Selemane Faque and Juma Andre Cuninga, beneficiaries of this industrial network replacement project, thanked the government and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) for being included, and said they believed that things would change.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are very happy, because since the insurgency began we have lost many things. Thank you to the government and the UNDP \u2013 at least we will be recover 50% of what we lost,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n
