Africa-Press<\/a> – Mozambique<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>The use of ore transport trucks to smuggle products, especially alcoholic beverages, is on the increase.<\/p>\n

The Mozambique Tax Authority says that most of the trucks involved in the smuggling schemes come from South Africa and are destined for the Port of Maputo.<\/p>\n

One example was the seizure a few days ago of a truck transporting clinker from South Africa to Mozambique, whose Mozambican driver was caught smuggling 550 cases of wine and other products.<\/p>\n

According to Fernando Tinga, spokesman for Mozambique Customs, the driver is in police custody.<\/p>\n

Speaking in Maputo on Friday during the presentation to the press of drinks seized from January onwards, Tinga said that around 338 seizures had been made throughout the national territory.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
