Africa-Press<\/a> – Mozambique<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>The Zambezi Valley Development Agency has announced investment valued at US$130 million for the development of two projects in the centre of the country \u2013 the first fruits of the first \u2018Regional Meeting for the Development of Communities\u2019, which took place in Chimoio, Manica province, on Tuesday (21-09).<\/p>\n

The projects will be allocated directly to the four Provincial Executive Councils of the central region, with a focus on business connections and connectivity benefitting small and medium enterprises (SMEs).<\/p>\n

The projects are under the management of the Zambezi Valley and the Northern Development Agencies.<\/p>\n

Roberto Albino, director general of the Zambezi Valley Development Agency, has been running the first project \u2013 valued at US$100 million, and with a focus on communities \u2013 since July this year.<\/p>\n

The governors of Manica, Sofala, Tete and Zamb\u00e9zia provinces and partners are debating issues about improving the lives of communities at the event, where three panels are addressing themes confronting the population and searching for solutions.<\/p>\n

The list of presentations includes the need for sustainable exploitation of the potential of the greater Zambezi and the arable lands in the region, aiming at production and productivity with a focus on exports, as well as guaranteeing food security.<\/p>\n

The partners understand that there is potential for large-scale production, but technical and material conditions for its realization remain to be created.<\/p>\n

The giants of the Zambezi conclude that the central region has the agro-ecological conditions to produce and register in the economic balance of Mozambique by helping reduce imports.<\/p>\n

S\u00e3o primeiros financiamentos anunciados no decurso da primeira \u201cReuni\u00e3o Regional para o Desenvolvimento das Comunidades\u201d que decorre hoje (21), na cidade de Chimoio, prov\u00edncia de Maputo.<\/b><\/p>\n

Os projectos ser\u00e3o alocados directamente aos quatro Conselhos Executivos Provinciais da regi\u00e3o centro, com foco para as liga\u00e7\u00f5es empresariais e conectividade, visando Desenvolver as Pequenas e Medias Empresas.<\/b><\/p>\n

Os projectos est\u00e3o sob gest\u00e3o das Ag\u00eancias de Desenvolvimento do Vale do Zambeze e do Norte.<\/b><\/p>\n
