Africa-Press<\/a> – Mozambique<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Christians in Mozambique resumed in-person worship on Sunday after Covid-19 measures were relaxed by the president.<\/p>\n

Worshippers said it was a relief to be able to attend church especially as the country faces attacks in the northern region.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt home, we pray through our phones, watch TV or read our pastors\u2019 preaching, in fellowship with our family, but it\u2019s not the same thing as being in church. Being in the house of the Lord and together with the brothers to praise God is different,\u201d said Carolina Manhi\u00e7a.<\/p>\n

Parish priest Georgio Ferretti said many believers died during the third Covid-19 wave and it was difficult for grieving families because of the restrictions.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are very happy to be able to resume the service \u2026 now we are back and [observing] all the preventive measures,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The resumption of services is in strict compliance to Covid-19 prevention measures, with reduced number of attendees and frequent cleaning.<\/p>\n

Some churches plan to hold open-air services.<\/p>\n
