Africa-Press<\/a> – Mozambique<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Great demand for decoders marked the first week since the permanent suspension of analogue television broadcasting in Maputo.<\/p>\n

Since Monday, it is no longer possible to access television content through the analogue signal, making it necessary to have a decoder to access the digital signal.<\/p>\n

In a round of visits to points of sale, Radio Mozambique found an numerous citizens looking for decoders. They, in turn, complained of shortages.<\/p>\n

Some Maputo residents claimed they were being charged and extra amount to \u2018activate\u2019 the decoders.<\/p>\n

The suspension of analogue transmission means decoders are vital for access to the television signal.<\/p>\n

Analogue televisions therefore need decoders provided by the Transport, Multiplication and Transmission company (TMT), the public operator responsible for transmission.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
