Africa-Press<\/a> – Mozambique<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>A vehicle became submerged after being surprised by the tide on Gadzene beach, Marracuene district, Maputo province, this Sunday.<\/p>\n

Despite the ban on vehicles on beaches, a group of three young people headed onto Gadzene beach \u2013 at low tide \u2013 with the driver no doubt intending to showcase the capabilities of his vehicle to those present.<\/p>\n

Witnesses told Canal that, halfway through this manoeuvre, the vehicle found itself surrounded by water.<\/p>\n

All attempts to remove the vehicle then failed. The tide continuing to rise, the occupants decided to abandon the vehicle, hoping to retrieve the vehicle once the tide went out.<\/p>\n

Local residents said that the vehicle would, at best, only be retrieved on Monday, possibly from further away, if the vehicle was moved along the coast by the current.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
