Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Nine months after Tropical Storm Filipo, the Vilankulo waterfront in Inhambane Province remains in a state of disrepair, with no intervention from the authorities. Residents of the area urge immediate action to prevent the loss of human lives.<\/p>\n

Once one of Vilankulo\u2019s main attractions, the waterfront has been deteriorating for the past nine months.<\/p>\n

Since Tropical Storm Filipo struck, the Vilankulo waterfront has been abandoned, with tree trunks that fell in March of last year still lying in the same spots.<\/p>\n

Trees that survived the strong winds have since succumbed to time and have died.<\/p>\n

The road is in such poor condition that driving in the area poses a serious risk, as reported by several residents who lack alternative routes.<\/p>\n

In the past nine months, vehicles have fallen into the damaged sections of the road due to its condition.<\/p>\n

To prevent further accidents, residents stress the urgent need for repairs to ensure public safety.<\/p>\n

With the Vilankulo waterfront in such poor condition, people have chosen other locations to celebrate the New Year, going against the tradition of Vilankulo residents gathering by the seaside to mark the occasion.<\/p>\n
