{"id":76795,"date":"2025-02-02T21:46:21","date_gmt":"2025-02-02T21:46:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/mozambique\/all-news\/state-revenue-expenditure-in-2024-below-target"},"modified":"2025-02-10T22:18:56","modified_gmt":"2025-02-10T22:18:56","slug":"state-revenue-expenditure-in-2024-below-target","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/mozambique\/all-news\/state-revenue-expenditure-in-2024-below-target","title":{"rendered":"State revenue, expenditure in 2024 below target"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Revenue collected by the Mozambican state in 2024 was below target, amounting to around 344.836 billion meticais (\u20ac5.177 billion), but expenditure was also below budget, according to figures unveiled by the government.<\/p>\n<p>The 2024 budget execution data was analysed on Tuesday at a cabinet meeting held in Maputo, and indicates that the collection of revenue by the state amounted to 89.9% of the target, while in 2023 it reached 91.8% of the objectives for that year.<\/p>\n<p>It was a \u201cyear characterised by countless adversities and challenges,\u201d acknowledged the Cabinet spokesman and Minister of State Administration and Civil Service Inoce\u0302ncio Impissa, when presenting the data on the implementation of the 2024 Economic and Social Plan and State Budget (PESOE), which the government is to submit to parliament.<\/p>\n<p>However, Impissa added that total state spending in 2024 stood at just over 493.356 billion meticais (\u20ac7.403 billion), or 86.9% of the amount budgeted, compared to 100% the previous year.<\/p>\n<p>The first indicators now revealed for budget execution show that, of the 228 indicators evaluated, 135 \u201cachieved the targets set for last year,\u201d Impissa said.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the government has decided to roll over the 2024 state budget, in emergency twelfths, due to the general elections having taken place on 9 October.
