Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>One year on, the Administrative Tribunal has annulled the appointment of the chief of staff of the office of the Governor of Sofala Province, In\u00e1cio Chissumba, of the Provincial Director of Education, Tom\u00e1s Viageiro, and of the Provincial Director of Environment and Territorial Development, H\u00e9lder Guandiane.<\/p>\n

This is because these individuals do not have [previous] links with the state, Di\u00e1rio de Mo\u00e7ambique reports.<\/p>\n

They were appointed by Governor of Sofala Louren\u00e7o Bulha, in the context of decentralised provincial governance.<\/p>\n

Even in the context of decentralised provincial governance, appointments to management and leadership positions must comply with the requirements contained in professional qualifiers and other legislation and, according to the interpretation of the Administrative Tribunal, this includes the appointees being state employees.<\/p>\n
