Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The Swedish Embassy in Mozambique this Wednesday launched a website called \u201cPamoja \u2013 Together change is possible \u201d to disseminate information about Sweden\u2019s historic role in supporting the fight against colonialism and apartheid in Africa.<\/p>\n

The platform was developed by Liliesleaf Centre of Memory, in collaboration with the Swedish embassies and representatives in Angola, Botswana, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mozambique, Namibia, Tanzania, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n

The main objective is to give young people a greater understanding of past struggles for human rights and democracy and to promote awareness of the potential of international solidarity.<\/p>\n

Pamoja is a tool to facilitate research into the history of Sweden\u2019s contributions to development and to liberation, particularly in southern Africa, and to inspire activism to combat inequality, racism and prejudice.<\/p>\n

\u201cPamoja is a story of international solidarity and the long cooperation relationship between Sweden and ten African countries. We hope that this platform will motivate young users to engage and actively participate in working towards a peaceful, just, equitable world and lead them to reflect deeply on the meaning of solidarity, contributing to change in the times we live now,\u201d said Mette Sunnergren, Swedish ambassador to Mozambique.<\/p>\n

The website was first launched at the end of September, 2021, in South Africa. Mozambique is the second country to launch the platform. It will be followed by the remaining eight African countries involved in the project.<\/p>\n
