Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Former prime minister of Mozambique Luisa Diogo has said that, because of constant pressure on the state budget, the country is in no position to subsidise the fuel sector.<\/p>\n

Speaking in Maputo this Friday at the launch of the third edition of the Total Energies start-up award, Lu\u00edsa Diogo, who is also an economist, said that, given its dependence on imports in the oil market, the country had no alternative but to raise the price of fuel.<\/p>\n

The Energy Regulatory Authority (ARENE) justified the rise in fuel prices with the upward direction of the price of crude oil and its derivatives on the international market.<\/p>\n

Regarding the abundant gas in the country, Lu\u00edsa Diogo says that Mozambicans had to be patient while they waited to take advantage of the fuel source.<\/p>\n
