Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>TotalEnergies\u2019 Startupper of the Year Challenge is back for its third edition in 32 African countries. Its goal is to support young African entrepreneurs between the ages of 18 and 35. The call for projects to participate in the challenge is open for seven weeks, from November 4 to December 23.<\/p>\n

All business creation project holders and young innovative start-ups with a positive impact on their communities and the planet can participate.<\/p>\n

Under the motto, \u201cIdeas need energy to grow!\u201d, TotalEnergies Marketing Mozambique launched in Maputo last Friday the third edition of \u201cThe Startupper of the Year Challenge\u201d.<\/p>\n

The challenge is posed to young entrepreneurs on the African continent and aims to develop innovative potential for public health, safety, education, accessibility and other issues that affect local communities.<\/p>\n

The competition comprises two phases, one national, whose winners will represent the country in the continental challenge, which foresees the participation of 32 countries, to find the three winners (per category) of the third edition of the TotalEnergies initiative.<\/p>\n

In the last edition, in Mozambique, TotalEnergies Marketing Mo\u00e7ambique awarded:<\/p>\n

Fanny Canet, General Manager of TotalEnergies Marketing Mozambique, said: \u201cAbove the entrepreneurial spirit, this third edition of the Startupper Challenge of the Year reaffirms TotalEnegies\u2019 commitment to supporting the socioeconomic development of the countries in which the Company operates in Africa. It contributes locally to strengthening the social fabric, supporting the most innovative entrepreneurs in carrying out their projects.\u201d<\/p>\n

Canet notes that the latest edition includes a \u201cBest Female Entrepreneur\u201d category, to encourage female entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n

In turn, Luisa Diogo, who sponsors the project, stated that development requires rural and urban inclusion, stressing that the role of the private sector is preponderant in accelerating national wealth, and SMEs should therefore bring the solutions to the country\u2019s challenges.<\/p>\n

Candidates for the three categories of the Challenge, namely, \u201cBest Business Creation Project\u201d, \u201cBest Start-up Under Three Years Old\u201d and \u201cBest Female Entrepreneur\u201d, will be evaluated by a local jury composed of experts, personalities from the start-up world and company managers, who will assess the relevance of projects based on their response to the challenges of sustainable development, their innovative character and their feasibility and potential for development.<\/p>\n

For the \u201cBest Female Entrepreneur\u201d award, female candidates will be evaluated on their ability to develop actions to promote female entrepreneurship and improve the daily lives of women in their community, as well as the criteria above.<\/p>\n

Following the nomination of the three winners per country, an international jury will convene to select three \u201cGrand Winners\u201d for the continent.<\/p>\n
