Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>In Sofala province, 26.3% of the those aged between five and 24 have no access to education.<\/p>\n

Premature marriage, early pregnancies and lack of interest in studying are pointed out as among the causes.<\/p>\n

The data were shared in Beira this Tuesday at a seminar to publicise the results of the Family Budget Survey 2019\/20 conducted by the National Statistics Institute (INE).<\/p>\n

The survey however points out that 76.3% of the population now have access to basic services, against 68.2% in the 2014 survey, the last one carried out.<\/p>\n

The INE delegate in Sofala, Jo\u00e3o Mungamba, said that the purpose of the survey was to collect data on income and expenses in order to assess residents\u2019 living conditions.<\/p>\n

Representing the Secretary of State for Sofala, Eduardo Mac\u00e1rio said in turn that statistical data was fundamental to the process of development.<\/p>\n

The 2019\/20 Family Budget Survey in Sofala province saw the involvement of a staff made up of 16 members, among surveyors and supervisors.<\/p>\n
