Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>More than 14 tonnes of precious minerals have been smuggled out of Mozambique in the last 10 months alone, says the government.<\/p>\n

Gold, rubies, tantalite and garnet were smuggled from places where they\u2019re most abundant \u2013 in the provinces of Cabo Delgado, Nampula, Zamb\u00e9zia and Manica.<\/p>\n

The problem is being discussed at three-day meeting between the government, the judiciary and others.<\/p>\n

Judge Counselor of the Supreme Court Rafael Sebasti\u00e3o told fellow attendees that legal processes are being fine-tuned to stop criminal exploitation and smuggling.<\/p>\n
