Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>A US tourist has been found dead in a forest in Panda district, Inhambane province, southern Mozambique, a local police spokesman told reporters on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Spokesman for the police in Inhambane, Juma Dauto, said that a group of five tourists were birdwatching in Mazucane, Panda, when the woman walked away to photograph birds and got lost.<\/p>\n

Realising the woman\u2019s disappearance, the other four tourists \u2013 all from South Africa \u2013 reported her missing to the police, who began searching the woods, culminating in the location of the woman, by that time already dead, Dauto said.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe didn\u2019t have any bruises and didn\u2019t show any traces of violence or signs that any animal had attacked her,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The authorities said that further investigations are underway to fully clarify the case, calling for tourists to always be accompanied by guides when visiting unfamiliar locations.<\/p>\n
