Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The prime minister of Mozambique, Carlos Agostinho do Ros\u00e1rio, on Thursday, said in the Mozambican Parliament that the government is committed to improving the financial management of the state by intensifying supervision and control.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are aware of the need to continue working on the improvement of the state\u2019s financial management,\u201d Ros\u00e1rio said.<\/p>\n

He was speaking at the end of the debate on the general state account for 2020.<\/p>\n

The government, he said, is determined to impose corrective measures and implement actions for the effective management of public affairs.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe also reaffirm that we will continue to strengthen supervision and internal control at all levels, intensifying regular inspections to correct possible irregularities in management systems,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The Mozambican prime minister said that the government would demand strict compliance with legislation on public procurement and supervision and control mechanisms.<\/p>\n

Improving accounting, inventory and management processes of state assets are also priorities in improving the administration of public resources, Ros\u00e1rio added.<\/p>\n

Ros\u00e1rio reiterated the commitment to prevent and combat corruption, mobilising public servants to follow the principles of good management carefully.<\/p>\n

The parliamentary debate on the general state account ended on Thursday.<\/p>\n
