{"id":944,"date":"2021-06-17T16:07:18","date_gmt":"2021-06-17T16:07:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/mozambique\/?p=944"},"modified":"2021-06-17T16:07:18","modified_gmt":"2021-06-17T16:07:18","slug":"country-should-be-ready-for-worst-case-scenario-of-covid-third-wave-minister","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/mozambique\/policy\/country-should-be-ready-for-worst-case-scenario-of-covid-third-wave-minister","title":{"rendered":"Country should be \u2018ready for worst-case scenario\u2019 of Covid third wave \u2013 minister"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>AfricaPress-mozambique:<\/strong> Mozambique\u2019s health minister, Armindo Tiago, on Wednesday said that the country should prepare for \u201cthe worst-case scenario\u201d of a third wave of Covid-19 to better prevent it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to be ready for the worst scenario, because only in this way can we protect society against the impacts of the pandemic,\u201d he said at the opening of a scientific conference on Covid-19 in Maputo.<\/p>\n<p>A readiness that should not be built on panic, but with realism and informed by scientific evidence, he added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn our region, countries like South Africa, Namibia and Zambia are already suffering the effects of the third wave.
