Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The authorities in Mozambique\u2019s central Sofala province want to resume the collection of crocodile eggs from the banks of the mighty Zambezi River in order to curb the population of the reptiles \u2013 and thus prevent attacks on people.<\/p>\n

The collection of the eggs was stopped nearly two years ago. The crocodile population has almost doubled since then, and nine people have already been attacked.<\/p>\n

However, some environmental organisations have criticised the plan, saying it could biodiversity at risk.<\/p>\n
