Speaking at the BVM awards ceremony, she highlighted the need for diversified financing sources and regional cooperation with Angola and Cape Verde to enhance market competitiveness and attract investment.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><span class=\"ap-article-header-tag\"> <strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Mozambique. <\/strong> <\/span>Mozambican Finance Minister Carla Louveira believes that the growth of the country\u2019s capital market depends on favourable regulatory, fiscal and institutional conditions.<\/p>\n<p>According to the minister, who was speaking at a ceremony marking the 2026 awards of the country\u2019s Stock Exchange (BVM), on Wednesday, healthy development requires diversified and sustainable sources of financing, based on the mobilization of domestic savings and foreign investment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe capital market is, in this context, an unavoidable instrument, not only as an alternative to bank financing, but as a mechanism for democratizing access to investment and strengthening the national business fabric\u201d, she claimed.<\/p>\n<p>During the ceremony, the BVM renewed agreements with its partner organisations from Angola and Cape Verde.<\/p>\n<p>According to Louveira, cooperation with the Angolan Debt and Securities Exchange (BODIVA), and the Cape Verde Stock Exchange (BVCV), is a concrete lever for the development of African markets and \u201cit\u2019s more than a diplomatic exercise.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRegulatory harmonization, technological integration, the joint development of new financial products, and the shared capacity building of human resources are vectors that directly contribute to the competitiveness of our markets and to attracting investment\u201d, she said.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister also called for regional interconnection, claiming that cooperation with Angola and Cape Verde is a strategic opportunity for positioning the Mozambican market within the African space and in a broader international context.<\/p>\n<p>The development of capital markets in Mozambique has been a focus for the government, particularly as the country seeks to diversify its economy and attract foreign investment. The Stock Exchange of Mozambique (BVM) plays a crucial role in this process, serving as a platform for raising capital and promoting economic growth.
