The Mozambican Chamber of Commerce, led by chairperson Lucas Chachine, emphasizes the need to strengthen the business class to enhance productivity and exports. With a focus on addressing challenges faced by Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), the Chamber plans to implement initiatives that promote economic inclusion and digitalization, aiming for improved business performance across various key<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong> <\/span>The chairperson of the Mozambican Chamber of Commerce (CCM), Lucas Chachine, believes that strengthening the country\u2019s business class is crucial for increasing productivity and exports.<\/p>\n

According to Chachine, speaking on Monday, in Maputo, after the inauguration of the new CCM governing bodies, expanding business is urgent \u201cand we need to seek solutions to the problems of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).\u201d<\/p>\n

The new bodies will operate in the sectors of taxation, finance, risk, compliance and control, internal audits, policies and procedures, macroeconomic analysis, support for associations, and business services.<\/p>\n

Chachine said that, in the near future, actions are planned to promote growth in these sectors, with a view to improving the performance of each department.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur motto is to see Mozambican companies producing more, improving the quality of their products, and exporting. This will be possible through strengthened collaboration with the government and closer ties with SMEs,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He also highlighted the need to promote the economic inclusion of young and female entrepreneurs through mentoring programs and access to alternative sources of financing.<\/p>\n

He also mentioned that the CCM intends to strengthen its role in mediating commercial disputes through the Business Ombudsman, a service already existing in the institution.<\/p>\n

He added that technological advances require greater resilience from companies, considering the government\u2019s commitment to the digitalization of the economy.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is important that the digitalization secretariat, in coordination with the others, invests in the use of digital platforms to boost business development,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The Mozambican economy has faced numerous challenges, including limited access to financing and support for SMEs, which are crucial for economic growth. The Chamber of Commerce’s initiatives aim to address these issues by fostering collaboration between businesses and the government, enhancing productivity, and promoting exports. Historically, the role of the Chamber has evolved to include mediation in commercial disputes and support for young and female entrepreneurs, reflecting a broader commitment to inclusive economic development.<\/p>\n
