Africa-Press – Namibia. ENTREPRENEUR Johannes Endjala was buried on Saturday at Okapya village in Oshana region.

Endjala, who co-owned J&P Group with his wife Penehafo, died in a Windhoek hospital on 23 January.

He was 58.

In his condolence message, founding president Sam Nujoma said Endjala will be remembered for his business acumen, humility and generosity towards his community and the entire country.

“The business community in particular and the country at large have lost a pioneer and a visionary business leader,” Nujoma said.

According to him, Endjala was an epitome of a hardworking person who was not only caring but also a risk-taker. He inspired many Namibians in the second phase of the struggle for economic emancipation, Nujoma said.

Nujoma added that Endjala’s death has not only robbed the Endjala family and friends of a hardworking and caring person but has also robbed the nation of a business strategist who served the country exceptionally well.

The Namibia Chamber of Commence and Industry chairperson for Ongwediva, Ben Hauwanga described Endjala as an extraordinary entrepreneur.

Hauwanga reminisced about his time with Endjala a few years after independence when they would convene meetings in the night to discuss about the “flooding” of Chinese into the Namibian market.

He said Endjala and he were accused of attempting a coup d’état.
