Africa-Press – Namibia. THE Namibia Wildlife Resorts (NWR) on Saturday scooped three Eco Awards at the Hospitality Association of Namibia’s gala dinner at Lüderitz.
In a media release on Monday, NWR spokesperson Nelson Ashipala said the three awards are in praise of accommodation that is established and managed according to eco-friendly principles.
The awards have been given to three NWR camps – Olifantsrus, Onkoshi, and Dolomite. Ashipala said NWR guarantees providing environmentally friendly tourism.
He said the awards clearly indicate that NWR aims to create memorable and sustainable tourism. “Eco-friendly tourism is the epitome of our success in ensuring quality service delivery and focus,” he said.
NWR managing director Matthias Ngwangwama said the awards indicate that an establishment keeps to the standards of environmental care. Eco Awards Namibia promotes the selective and careful use of resources, promoting reducing and reusing resources, he said.
