Africa-Press – Namibia. THREE children from Angola drowned in an earth dam at Ombafi in the Omusati region on Sunday.

According to the police’s regional commander in Omusati, commissioner Titus Shikongo, the children who drowned arrived illegally in Namibia with their parents from Calueque in Angola in search of cultivation work last week.

The children were aged between 13 and 15 years. It is alleged that at the time of the incident the children were fishing in the dam while their guardians were bathing on the opposite side of the same dam.

Members of the Namibian Police at Oshakati retrieved the bodies of the three drowned children from the dam on Monday. The children were named as Kukaji Muziku (15), Kengeleni Pedru (15) and Kaunjandelua Lombueleni (13). Their families have been informed about their deaths.
