Africa-Press – Namibia. President Hage Geingob has sent a Good Friday message on the unfolding catastrophe in South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal province, where hundreds of people have died due to flooding.
“This Good Friday, our prayers go to our neighbours in Kwazulu-Natal as they deal with the full scale of devastation caused by the catastrophic flooding that has devastated lives and livelihoods,” Geingob said on social media.
He also tagged South African president Cyril Ramaphosa in his message.
“My brother, president Cyril Ramaphosa, may peace, love and healing prevail,” Geingob stated.
Unprecedented floods in Durban have caused massive damage to infrastructure and destroyed homes and roads.
The death toll from the floods has reached 395.
Fuel rationing has been reported, as well as water and other shortages.
