Africa-Press – Namibia. THE Cross Town Park tournament held at Omuthiya over Easter was soured when thieves stole the wheels off the trailer of a water tank. The 5 000-litre water tank stationed at the sports field was for the use of participants and visitors.
On Saturday morning when officials arrived at the sports field, they saw the trailers’ wheels had been stolen overnight. Town Mayor John Ndeutepo said this is the first time the tank, which has been at the stadium for years, was vandalized.
Ndeutepo called on the public to assist the council in tracing the perpetrators so they can be dealt with. “We cannot tolerate people who vandalize public property,” he added. The sports facility was established to keep the youths off the street.
