Africa-Press – Namibia. The United Democratic Front Youth League (UDFYL) acting secretary general, Michael Skini says that their party will support its own presidential candidate in 2024.
According to Skini, UDF is an independent, democratic political party, which has capable members that can lead the country as a president. Therefore members of UDF will be voting for their own presidential candidate. “We will not vote for any presidential candidate whether it’s for Swapo, PDM or any other political party,” Skini said.
In 2013, UDF president Justus //Garoeb called upon UDF’s supporters to back Swapo’s presidential candidate, Hage Geingob, because he was a Damara.
Geingob distanced himself from the comments made by //Garoeb, who has been a chief since the 1980s.
