THE cruise ship MSC Orchestra called at the port of Walvis Bay on Sunday and departed on Monday.

Hundreds of passengers disembarked to visit Walvis Bay and Swakopmund, taking part in various tourist activities. The passengers were also shopping and dining out, delivering much-needed cash into the two coastal towns’ local economies.

The ocean liner also called at Walvis Bay last week before a brief return to Cape Town for passengers to embark and disembark.

Her call at Walvis Bay on Sunday marked the last visit of a passenger liner for the year, that is until mid-November when the summer returns to the Southern Hemisphere.

Many passenger liner fleets moved to the Northern Hemisphere by now where the spring and summer seasons are on hand.
