Africa-PressNamibia. PRESIDENT Hage Geingob last night hosted a dinner at State House in honour of Namibian Paralympians who competed in the just ended Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.

Geingob took the opportunity to convey his gratitude towards the parents of the Paralympians for the role they have played in ensuring they become athletes of note.

Additionally, Geingob thanked the Paralympians for their brilliant performances at the Tokyo Paralympic and for flying the flag of the Land of the Brave high.

Team Namibia consisted of Ananias Shikongo, Johannes Nambala and Lahja Ishitile, as well as their guides Even Tjiviju, Sam Shimanda and Sydney Kamuaruuma. Shikongo scooped a silver medal in the T11 (total blind) 400m, and Nambala for the bronze medal in the T13 (visual impaired) 400m.

The President expressed pride in the manner in which the athletes and the entire team, including administrators, represented Namibia as worthy ambassadors.
