Ngalangi left Fishcor on own accord – Gaomab II

Africa-Press – Namibia. FISHCOR board chairperson Mihe Gaomab ll says former Fishcor acting chief executive officer Paulus Ngalangi’s resignation from the state-owned entity has nothing to do with his transportation of ‘farmgate’ suspect Imanuwela David in 2020.

In June 2020 Ngalangi picked David, who is now accused of being the mastermind of the theft of South African president Cyril Ramaphosa’s US$4 million at his Phala Phala farm.

He picked up David at Noordoewer in his BMW X5 and travelled with him to Windhoek. Both Ngalangi and David were later arrested because David had crossed the Orange River illegally into Namibia.

“Mr Ngalangi resigned on his own accord. He was not forced to resign and there is evidence to that. Whatever happened at the border has no relation to his resignation,” Gaomab II told The Namibian on Tuesday.

Ngalangi resigned from Fishcor on 30 June 2021.

“After much contemplation, I have decided to pursue and advance my career further at another company, please receive this letter as formal notification of my resignation from the position of general manager of finance for Seaflower Whitefish Corporation Limited, effective 30 June 2021,” Ngalangi wrote in his resignation letter dated 6 April 2021.
