Africa-Press – Namibia. THE Namibia Bus and Taxi Association (Nabta) elected a new national executive committee at a congress held in Windhoek recently.

According to a Nabta media release on Sunday, the election was done in conjunction with the Ministry of Works and Transport, the Ministry of Labour, Industrial Relations and Employment Creation, and Office of the Labour Commissioner.

The congress elected Jeffrey Platt as Nabta president, Siremo Ruben Sikwaya as vice president, Magnus Nangombe as chairman and Pendapala Nakathingo as the national general secretary.

Josefart Jomo Jagger was elected as Nabta deputy secretary general, while Jacobus Platt was elected as the national treasurer. The deputy national treasurer is Benestus Muhuka, and the public relations officer is Michael Hamphries.

Additional members are Sackey Malima, Dragguner Patric, Andreas Mbangu and Cisel Titus.

Nangombe said the newly elected members have been given a huge responsibility to implement the Nabta constitution without fear or favour.

“Nabta members, the public and stakeholders are hereby urged to reject any individuals who are busy causing confusion and misleading the public using Nabta’s name,” Nangombe said.
