Africa-PressNamibia. CUP Kings Black Africa crashed out of the MTC NFA Cup Aweh after losing 4-0 to Young Brazilians at the Mariental Stadium on Saturday.

Francois Vries netted a brace, while Wayne Esterhuizen and Quinton van Staden scored one each, to hand Namibia’s cup kings their heaviest defeat in recent years.

At the Oscar Norich Stadium in Tsumeb, Khuse FC beat Nossob FC, 4-2, thanks to a hat-trick from Titus Abraham and a solo goal by Abraham Hatutale. Charles Geingob and Sergio Gariseb scored for the Omaheke Region qualifiers Nossob.

Mighty Gunners sailed through to the last eight in style as they won 6-2 against New Poison. The Namibia Premier Football League (NPFL) side got their goals through a hat-trick by Asser Hara-Ramseb, while veterans Pineas Jakob and Vernon Klaazen each scored one goal to lead 5-2 at halftime.

Andrias Mushongo and George Mbambangandu were on target for Poison before Fares Haidula made it 6-2 for Gunners. Tigers brushed aside Zambezi qualifiers Supe 11 with a comprehensive 3-0 win at Tsumeb. Brave Warriors midfielder Absalom Iimbondi, Johannes Jackson and Chris Katjiukua, from the spot, secured the victory for Ingweinyama.

Another NPFL outfit Young African also advanced to the quarterfinals, but were pushed all the way by Ohangwena Nampol, who held them to a goalless draw, before Young African won the penalty shootout 5-4.

Blue Waters were pushed all the way and scraped through with a 6-5 penalty shootout victory over Western Spurs at the Jan Wilken Stadium in Walvis Bay, following a goalless 90 minutes.

On Sunday, MTC NFA Cup Aweh action continues in the capital Windhoek with two matches taking place at the Unam Main campus Stadium. DTS Hopsol will face Citizens at 14h00 before Tura Magic take on Civics at 16h00.

The MTC NFA Cup Aweh quarterfinals will played on the weekend of 25 and 26 September, with the draw conducted right after the final match of the Round of 16 between Tura Magic and Civics.
