Africa-Press – Namibia. DIETRICH Schrywer and Dmitri Renton won a Betterball competition sponsored by Spes Bona at the Windhoek Golf and Country Club over the weekend.
The pair won the competition on 47 points, the same as Justin Mwamba and Marten Kapewasha, whom they beat on a count-out.
They were followed by three pairs of players who all finished on 45 points, namely Christian Li and Justus Amutenya, Dewald Coetzee and Raymond van Zyl, and Ester and Wilfried Emvula.
A total of 88 players competed in the event.
Four nearest-to-the-pin prizes were awarded to Thomas Hollenberg on the third hole, Burns du Toit on the ninth hole, Jaco Brockman on the 13th hole, and Paul Adkins on the 17th hole.
Three lucky draw prizes sponsored by Fanie Oosthuizen were also raffled.
The Namibia Amateur Ladies Golf Union will host a mixed-pairs competition on 24 August.
