Africa-Press – Namibia. ZAMBEZI regional governor Lawrence Sampofu and former Kavango regional governor Samuel Mbambo were on Saturday sworn-in as Swapo party central committee members.
They filled vacancies left by former ministers Sacky Shangala and Bernhardt Esau who were removed from the party’s highest decision-making body after they were implicated in the Fishrot scandal. Shanghala, Esau and other people linked to the Fishrot scandal have been in prison since 2019, as they wait for trial in that matter.
