Oshakati IPC councillor resigns

Africa-Press – Namibia. ONE of the three councillors representing the Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) in Oshakati town council, Martha Imene, has resigned from the council.

Imene confirmed her resignation to The Namibian on Thursday.

According to her, she resigned because she was tired and was no longer interested in being a councillor.

“I want to go to school,” she said before she referred The Namibian to Oshakati Town Council’s spokesperson.

Imene denied being removed from the council saying maybe people believe she was fired because the notice of her resignation from the council came from the party and not from her.

“I informed the party and the party informed the council,” she said.

She added that although she had resigned as a councillor, she remains a member of IPC.

The IPC will now choose another member to replace Imene.
