Africa-Press – Namibia. THE Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security has warned foreign students who fail to attend classes after they acquire students permit and engage in other pursuits.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the ministry said appropriate action will be taken against those students.
“The ministry wishes to send a stern warning to prospective foreign students who apply for student permits but do not attend classes as they are engaging in business,” said the statement.
The ministry is requesting foreign students who have enrolled or wish to enrol with Namibia education institutions to submit applications for permits from 7 November 2022 to February 2023.
The students permit costs N$1 600 per year for primary and secondary education while one for tertiary education costs N$2200, when the application is approved.
“All applicants should comply with stipulated requirements and application forms can be accessed on the ministry’s website,” reads the statement.
