Africa-Press – Namibia. THE Namibia Statistics Agency on Friday swore-in 164 field workers at Keetmanshoop who will conduct the 2021 population and housing pilot census.
The national 2021 population and housing census would have commenced in August but was postponed to August 2022 due to budget constraints. The statistics agency’s communication specialist, Nelson Ashipala, said the pilot census would be conducted together with the pilot post-enumeration survey in all 14 regions.
The pilot census is aimed at testing the census methodology, questionnaire and data collection processes, among others. “The pilot post-enumeration survey is to have an independent assessment of the completeness of the census and to verify the population numbers during the census,” said Ashipala. The field staff comprising supervisors and enumerators will conduct the studies from 17 to 29 this month.
