Africa-Press – Namibia. OMRI-ONN Kavandje was re-elected for the third time as the mayor of Eenhana and will lead for a period of 12 months.

Selma Kawiiwa was also re-elected as deputy mayor.

Meanwhile, Amos Nangolo, Leonard Jona and Ester Kavela were also re-elected as members of Management Committee. Fridrik Ndilinawa and Herman Angula remain ordinary councillors.

In his acceptance, Kavandje called on his councillors to rededicate efforts to make a difference in the lives of the residents of Eenhana Town and surrounding areas.

Kavandje said that during the previous two years they managed to implement and put in motion a number of developmental projects, aimed at improving the quality of life for residents, visitors and investors.

He added that it is a well-known fact that the past few years have been marred by adverse events both to the international, domestic and local economies.

Kavandje indicated that the recession and inflation primarily arising from the economic crisis and the world economy has been seriously affected by systematic meltdown.

He then called on unity of purpose among and between council officials, saying that leaders and residents of the town must be united, as it is only when they are united that they shall achieve their goals.
