Africa-Press – Namibia. Two official vehicles belonging to prime minister Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila were allegedly involved in an accident on Wednesday night, the Omusati regional police commander, commissioner Ismael Basson said on Thursday.
According to Basson, Kuugongelwa-Amadhila’s vehicles were driving in a convoy and crashed into each other. However, no injuries were reported.
Basson said the incident took place along the Omafo-Onandjaba road.
He added that Kuugongelwa-Amadhila was travelling from Okongo to Outapi.
A Swapo source told The Namibian that the prime minister was coming from deputy prime minister Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah’s victory celebration following her election as party vice president at the recent Swapo elective congress.
The party took place at the Nandi-Ndaitwah’s family house at Onheleiwa in the Ohangwena region on Wednesday.
