Africa-Press – Namibia. THE Tsumeb Municipality has initiated a plan to kickstart land surveying of Kuvukiland informal area.

This will be done to map out the shape and boundaries of the town’s informal settlement.

The informal area is located at the western side of the town and has a population of over 9 472 and over 2 368 households and has a total of 1 607 plots created.

Town spokesperson, Stella Imalwa-Nangolo said that the surveying work will start on the 21st of this month.

Imalwa-Nangolo, indicated that they also plan to install three more water tanks that will be erected at a suitable place to be identified by their committee members.

She noted that a meeting was held with residents of the informal area as part of engaging them on the town’s yearly plans.

“As a tradition, the town’s leadership holds meeting with the residents to gather input on how to go about in ensuring development,” she said.

The Tsumeb Municipality is expected to spent approximately N$60 million to have the whole area fully serviced.
