Africa-Press – Namibia. DESPITE President Hage Geingob completely doing away with movement restrictions when he suspended curfew a fortnight ago, the country continues to show promise as no Covid-19 related deaths have been recorded today.
Out of 1 189 samples tested, 25 new cases were reported, which include 17 learners from different schools and two teachers, none of which have been vaccinated.
According to the Minister of Health and Social Services, Dr. Kalumbi Shangula, 65 people recovered from the virus, with around 840 current active cases. He said this represents a positivity ratio of 2.1%, with a gender distribution of 15 females and ten males. The ages range from two to 70 years.
“As from Saturday, 315 645 people have received one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, of which 46 190 have received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, administered as one dose, while 201 108 had received two doses,” he said, adding that 247 298 have been fully vaccinated.
