Africa-Press – Namibia. AFRICAN Stars maintained a 14 point lead at the top of the Debmarine Namibia Premiership log after Round 18 matches on Friday and Saturday.
Stars beat Civics through a first half goal by Romario Ndjavera to move up to 48 points from 18 matches at the top of the log. They have only dropped three points all season after recording 15 wins and three draws.
Blue Waters thumped Unam 5-0 in Walvis Bay after leading 2-0 at halftime to remain second on 34 points.
Their goal scorers were Steven Damaseb, Junior Petrus, Pandeni Kandjambanga, Erastus Kulula and Israel Shikongo.
Unam remain third on 30 points despite the defeat, while Okahandja joined them on 30 points after beating Black Africa 2-0.
Young Brazilians beat Citizens 1-0 at the Unam Stadium in Windhoek, while Eleven Arrows eased their relegation fears with a 3-1 win against Tura Magic at Walvis Bay.
Rewaldo Prins gave Tigers the lead early in the second half, finishing off a quick counter-attack, but Samwila Mukutulo equalised for Julinho with a header from a freekick.
The result leaves Tigers in 9th position on 23 points, while Julinho are 12th on 21.
Te match between Orlando Pirates and Life Fighters that was due to take place in Rehoboth was postponed, while the match between Mighty Gunners and Young African was stopped with 15 minutes to go due to poor lighting, with Gunners leading 2-1.
